HAMR Softball Updates - 4/7/2020

HAMR Families,

We would like to share with you an email we received from Little League Eastern District Headquarters in Bristol.  This might help to answer any questions you might have, and shed light on a possible delayed spring season:

First and foremost, I hope that you and all are safe and healthy during this uncertain time that we are all living within.

I want to thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns with the 2020 Little League season facing your local Little League.  I would ask that you not officially cancel the season at this point in time.  I state such as there is still much to be determined.  Moving forward, Little League as an organization will provide not only you as the President, but the entire Little League community members such as District Administrators, parents, players, managers, coaches, umpires and volunteers with as much insight and education pertaining to our program, the 2020 season and as a whole, all of it combined moving forward.

As you are fully aware, Little League has set a temporary suspension date of all local Little League activities throughout the country until May 11th.  As this date approaches, Little League will continue to get the best advice and guidance from the CDC, WHO and the many medical professionals that we currently rely upon in guidance for our program.  Again, as May 11th approaches, we will certainly provide all local leagues in advance of our plans moving forward.  If you need specific updates at this time, please visit https://www.littleleague.org/player-safety/coronavirus-update/

Such plans are already being worked on by our staff…such as extending the regular season throughout the year, tournament options that may be available, Special Games opportunities within the districts/states, and much more.  We will be prepared to provide our leagues with the best guidance in the next couple of weeks where a sound and overall decision can be made by each league which would be best suited for its specific community.

Again, I would advise you at this time not to cancel the entire season as there may be more options available for your community of children and volunteers to participate, it just may be at a different timeframe that we are all going to need to adjust to and adapt.

Best Regards,

HAMR Softball

HAMR Softball Updates - 4/4/2020

Good Evening HAMR Families and Friends,

We hope this message finds you all healthy and safe!  While I'm sure you all were as hopeful as us that Softball would be starting this week, the HAMR board feels that for the safety of everyone, we will continue to follow the latest recommendations from Little League International.  With that said, we will be extending the suspension of HAMR activities until May 11th.  At that time, we will reevaluate the situation and make a decision on how to proceed.

So, in the meantime, keep an eye out for more email and Facebook updates and get outside and practice!

Stay healthy and safe,
